 What's the scoop on discount tanning memberships? Tanning salons exposed!

Simple. Most tanning salons offer V.I.P. memberships that allow you access to discounted monthly tanning,  year round. The discounted price is usually around $30 per month or so for a base bed. However, the only way to get the $30 per month price is to sign a one year contract. This means you are agreeing to pay $30 per month for every month in that year whether you tan or not. Yes, they offer you an option to freeze it for a fee. You have to pay this fee for every month that it is frozen. Frozen means, you are not tanning during this time, but you still paid to freeze it and it tacks on another month to the end of that 1 year contract! How many times have you forgotten to pay them to freeze it and still paid the monthly fee? 

 In addition to paying the $30 per month or paying to freeze the month, If you want to use a bronzing bed that is an upgrade, and for that you will have to pay extra for using their bronzing beds.

By choosing the longer discounted tanning membership program. They will charge you a non-refundable enrollment fee. Then, they require you to pay monthly fees EVERY MONTH, whether you tan during that month or not! Oh my! All of this to get discount tanning? Then, they also require 30 days cancellation notice prior to discontinuing the auto-draft (EFT) from your bank account. Just when you thought all the fees were over, guess what? Then they charge you AGAIN, a cancellation fee for early withdrawal of the agreement.

 So ask yourself, was it  discount tanning after all?

Why are they so expensive? Some of these places stay open until midnight and are open on Sundays. This creates  HUGE added expenses for them (in which you and others will have to pay for) to stay in business, so they have to charge all of these fees to stay in business AND make money.

It is understandable for someone to who has to tan at these type of places because of their work schedule. Yes, they should have to pay more for that conveinience, that's why they are in business. The average person who does not need to tan later than 7pm should certainly consider tanning elsewhere and saving lots of money.

We offered our tanning as an added benefit to our salon clients about 4 years ago and we have extended memberships to the general public about 3 years ago.

V.I.P. invities are welcomed to visit our salon for a complete list of causes for revokation. Revoked V.I.P. members are not entitled to a refund. Perry's reserves the right to change V.I.P. status to a monthly membership at anytime.
